The infrastructure
The aim is to take in dogs that are in need and offerthem the chance of a new life. Can Gossos is located in the heart of the island, close to San Rafael, and covers an area of 17 hectares. Headed by our architect Rainer Rosellen, the project spawned a modern, fully functioning dog refuge. The facilities boast four well-equipped modules, a medical department and an administrative area.
Dogs are housed either in groups or individually. Each enclosure has a covered, heated or airconditioned indoor area, together with an outdoor terrace with access to a grassed area. Can Gossos can accommodate up to 120 dogs.
We filter our own water and have a solar power system to ensure water reaches everywhere in our refuge
The modern-day Refugio Can Gossos emerged from the
former buildings of Can Garroves.
