Rocky

Hi, I’m Rocky! Don’t worry, I have nothing to do with the Hollywood boxer. I’m the Belgian Malinois Shepherd of Fundació Gossos. I arrived here with my buddy Balú (also a shepherd, but German). When I arrived, I was wearing a choke collar and a muzzle, so the caretakers didn’t feel very confident with me first... Luckily, they dared to take both off of me, and thanks to that, they realized I am not as tough and scary as they thought. One thing is true though: I have tons of energy (it’s in my breed), but when I can run freely, I manage to release some of that built-up energy, and afterwards, I feel much more relaxed. It’s not easy when your ancestors were bred to have extremely high energy levels, and your life is then limited to a small space and a bit of daily exercise at the shelter. Given the circumstances, I’m proud of how well I manage my emotions. I always come running back when called, and I am really good at pleasing my companion (I love gazing deeply into your eyes). As soon as I feel a connection with someone and I am by their side, everything else fades away. I’m SO happy to have company, whether it’s on a walk or during my cuddle times (yes, I love being petted and having cuddly moments).
