Grefusito

Grefusito is an adult mixed-breed dog, approximately 5 years old, who arrived at the shelter following the DANA floods in Valencia in 2024. We have no information about his previous history, but his current behavior helps us understand well what kind of dog he is and what he needs. With other dogs, he shows good social skills, but he is selective: he does not get along with every dog and needs calm, well-managed introductions. He is not a dog to be mixed freely with others without supervision. With people, Grefusito can appear insecure, especially at first. At the same time, there are moments when he actively seeks contact and closeness, showing that connection and bonding matter to him. He needs time, patience, and an environment where he feels safe. During walks, he may pull on the leash at times, particularly when he is nervous or overstimulated. In addition, he has an injury to one of his legs, and his emotional state can change when he is in pain. He finds it difficult to enter small spaces, such as a car or a crate, something that will need to be worked on gradually. He has a high hunter instinct, which should be taken into account during walks, especially in natural areas. Grefusito needs a calm environment with experience and sensitivity, where his limits are understood and he is supported with empathy. With the right encouragement and plenty of affection, he can move forward, build a bond, and shine again.
